## Where most businesses are right now

Most small businesses are in one of two places with AI: ignoring it entirely, or a few employees are using ChatGPT on their phones and pasting company data into free tools with zero oversight. Both are problems.

The first group is falling behind. The second is creating security and compliance risks they don't even know about. Your employees are going to use AI whether you have a policy or not — the question is whether you're going to get ahead of it.

## 01 — AI strategy and workflow assessment

Before anything gets built, we figure out where AI actually makes sense.

- **Workflow mapping** — We document current workflows and identify where AI and automation make a measurable difference.
- **Opportunity scoring** — Each opportunity scored on time savings, complexity, risk, and output impact.
- **Tool selection** — No vendor kickbacks. No commissions. We recommend what works.

## 02 — Training and AI enablement

Buying AI tools without training is like buying a CNC machine and handing someone the manual.

- **Getting past the chatbot** — Structured prompting, providing context, iterating on outputs.
- **Role-specific training** — Accounting, marketing, operations — built around what each role actually does.
- **Ethical AI usage** — AI hallucinates. Output is a draft, not a source of truth. We train people on verification.
- **Security and data protection** — What can go into an AI tool and what can't. Non-negotiable.
- **Ongoing coaching** — Reinforcement, new techniques, level-up over time.

## 03 — AI platforms and tools

No single AI tool is best at everything. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.

- **Microsoft Copilot** — Embedded in M365. Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams. Copilot Studio for custom copilots tied to business processes. We handle readiness audits, tenant cleanup, licensing, and deployment.
- **Anthropic Claude** — Long-form writing, document analysis, contract review, complex multi-step reasoning. Claude Code and the Agent SDK for building custom agents.
- **OpenAI** — Broad general-purpose models. Largest ecosystem of integrations. Codex for code-heavy automation.
- **Google Gemini** — Multimodal (text, images, video, audio). Integrates with Google Workspace. Vertex AI for enterprise data governance.

We don't have a favorite. We pick what fits the job. Sometimes a single business uses two or three for different functions. That's normal.

## 04 — Custom automation and AI agents

Beyond chatbots and Copilot, there's a whole layer most small businesses don't know exists — agents, skills, and automated workflows.

- **AI agents** — Not chatbots. Purpose-built systems that reason, use tools, access your data, execute multi-step tasks.
- **Skills and workflows** — Reusable modules encoding specific expertise (data analysis, document creation, research). Wired together into pipelines with human checkpoints.
- **Power Automate and M365 integrations** — Form submission triggers email, SharePoint entry, Teams notification. Invoice routing by amount and department. PTO blocks calendar and notifies manager.
- **Custom agent development** — Agents that process support tickets, review contracts against standard terms, produce formatted reports with analysis.
- **Multiplying your workforce** — Take 10–15 hours/week of repetitive structured tasks and give that time back. Not fewer people — more output per person.

## 05 — AI policy and governance

You need a policy before you need a tool.

- **Acceptable use policy** — Approved tools, allowed data, role-based access, output review, attribution.
- **Data classification for AI** — Public copy is fine in any tool. Client financials never touch consumer AI. We map your data to approved tools.
- **Compliance considerations** — HIPAA, PII, government contracts. We make sure the technology side is correct.
- **Vendor evaluation** — Data handling, enterprise agreements, SOC 2, data residency.

## How it works

1. **Discovery** — Time with leadership and the people doing the work.
2. **Assessment and roadmap** — Written report: where AI fits, where it doesn't, cost, order of operations.
3. **Policy and foundation** — Acceptable use policy. Enterprise tools set up with proper security. Governance before tools.
4. **Training** — Role-specific. Prompting, ethics, security, hands-on.
5. **Build and deploy** — Copilot, Power Automate, custom agents, integrations.
6. **Iterate and expand** — Coaching, new use cases, expanding automation.

## What we don't do

- **Custom model training or fine-tuning.** We use existing models through APIs and enterprise platforms. If you need custom model development, you need a machine learning engineering firm.
- **AI-generated customer-facing content without review.** Chatbots that hallucinate to your clients are a liability.
- **Replacing human judgment in critical decisions.** AI assists. Humans decide. Especially in legal, financial, medical, or personnel matters.
- **Promising magic.** AI is a tool. A powerful one. But it won't fix broken processes or replace expertise you don't have.
